Welcome to the collections Post Exchange store (PX). just like the boys of LOC and the USAAF had at Langford Lodge, the Post Exchange at Site 1, was referred to as a General Store, which provided items that personnel couldn't readily acquire locally. Have a look around for some items that you might find of interest for your collection, all proceeds from PX sales will go directly to our current fundraiser, to acquire land and buildings that were once part of the Langford Lodge airfield site, to house the collection, one day we hope to have our own physical PX.

COLLECTORS MUG#1 - B-17'S ON THE FLIGHT TEST STRIP - APRIL 1944.

A bespoke collectors mug, from the collections Signal Corps Series of photographs, featuring a scene from the Air Depots history, during April 1944, when a large amount of newly arrived B-17G's were on the Flight Test Strip, having been modified in Hangars 108 & 111, by personnel of the Lockheed Overseas Corporation.
The left hand side of the mug features the collections header and associated social media details, beneath, can be seen a partially opaque section of the original airfield site plan, featuring the location in which the corresponding photograph was taken, overlaid, is the original printed caption, which was supplied with the photograph.

A bespoke collectors mug, from the collections Lockheed Overseas Corporation digital Contact Print scans. This particular photograph was taken from an aircraft, overlooking Gartree Point below, it captures the Air Depot during late 1942, early 1943, when construction was almost complete.
